What Is Your Vision?
by James Ryle

In a dream I saw the letter Y suspended before me. As I watched, it took on the likeness of an old-fashioned slingshot, the kind you might have played with when you were a kid. I then saw a man's hand firmly take hold of the Y at the bottom, making it now look like a V sitting atop a closed fist. He placed a solid rock in the leather pouch, and drew the bands back to his cheek, holding his arm straight in front of him as he prepared to fire the slingshot.
In the dream, I was looking over the man's shoulder from behind him. As he let the rock go, it soared across the room, straight as an arrow, and hit the target with such force that the whole room shook. Then a most peculiar thing happened. Another man came and took the slingshot out of the hands of the first man. He looked it over, and scornfully said, 'No, no, no! This is all wrong. It's entirely too big!' He then squeezed the V until only a very small opening appeared. 'There, that's much better,' he said, as he prepared to shoot it. However, he had closed it so tight that no rock would pass through the small opening. He tried a few times, and became frustrated and embarrassed. Rather, than put it back the way it was, the second man threw the slingshot down on the ground and stomped out of the room. Then a third man appeared. He was a shadowy figure. Picking the thing up he said, "Here is what it needs," and with that he closed it shut completely. Now, what first looked like the letter Y appeared instead as the letter I. The dream ended, and I woke up.

Interpretation: Say Yes to Jesus

The Holy Spirit spoke to me, "The Y stands for yes. When a man says yes to Jesus, the Lord takes his life in His strong hands and gives vision to the man — that's what the V signified. Then, He puts the solid rock of His Word within his heart, draws the man to seek His face and then sends him forth on his life's mission. "As you beheld in the dream, when a man is thus sent by Christ — he will stay true in flight. He will go the distance, and his life will have lasting impact. "But the man who appeared and took the sling out of the Lord's hands, represents those who think their idea of living is better than God's. As you saw, the vision which the man had for himself was puny and ineffective. The man limited himself to something small and meaningless, and finally threw his life away as having no value. "The shadowy man is the devil. He takes up the discarded life of the unrepentant and tightly closes it to the letter I. This shows that the smallest vision a man can have is when he is totally focused upon himself."
