Many example were taken from Josh Mcdowell’s “New Evidence that Demands a Verdict”
Josh and others cite more than 300 Old Testament prophesies that were fulfilled. Here are only a few of the more obvious ones.
Section 1 is a quick list of some Old Testament Prophesies
Section 2 is a list of some of the larger pieces of scripture that prophesy of Jesus
* Note - some may ask, "How do we know that this Old Testament verse is prophesying of Jesus and not someone else?" The simple answer is this - most of these verses are quoted in the New Testament by the Apostles as prophesying of Jesus. Example: In Matthew 2:5 the writer (inspired by the Holy Spirit) quotes Micah 5:2 as an Old Testament verse that is speaking of Jesus birth in Bethlehem. Most of these verses are taken as prophesy about Jesus because they are cited by the Apostles. FYI. - Chris
These portions of scripture are not single verses where one may wonder, "Was the the prophet talking about the Messiah or about someone else?" These portions, when one is familiar with the whole Bible, are definately speaking about the Messiah and not referring to someone else in prophets immediate life. I have tried to take most of my references from these portions of text because they are so clear. See what you think.
